Friday Newsletter April 04, 2024

Hello Keystone Community,

Hope is a beautiful beacon in our lives, and the ever-present sun embodies this hope, shining down on us ceaselessly. As we approach a holiday where we share our hopes, joys, and love, let’s embrace the spirit of togetherness. I extend my warm wishes to everyone for a rejuvenating break. While some won’t be joining us in Istanbul, our students and dear teacher, Dina, are embarking on an exciting journey to Canada this Sunday. We wish them a fantastic adventure and a safe trip ahead.

Swap Day

Today, we witnessed a delightful and amusing scene as our teachers transformed into students and our students took on the role of teachers. It was a fun-filled day, yet we couldn’t help but notice the underlying seriousness in our students, reflecting their dedication to learning.

Report Cards

Today marks the distribution of PEI report cards for our Keystone students. Kilittaşı Elementary School parents can access developmental report cards, while middle school grades are available on K12 net. We’ve previously discussed your child’s academic and socio-emotional development during parent meetings and academic committees. Feel free to reach out regarding any observations you have from the report cards.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma

Our Grade 12 students who fulfill graduation requirements will receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) from the Ontario Ministry of Education. Recognized worldwide, the OSSD suffices for most countries. However, for Turkish universities, the diploma must be notarized/authenticated in Canada and validated by the Canadian Embassy in Turkey. For inquiries about payment methods, please contact Ms. Filiz.

Inspections

Both Keystone International School and Kilittaşı School are proud to maintain high academic standards as official offshore Canadian schools accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Regular inspections by relevant authorities ensure compliance with Canadian and WASC standards. This year, inspections are scheduled from May 13 to May 16 by Prince Edward Island and from May 22 to May 23 by WASC.

Congratulations to our senior class on their outstanding university acceptances and scholarship achievements! Their hard work has earned them 58 acceptances and a total of 333,863 USD in scholarships. Here are the universities they’ve received offers from:

(University lists for UK, US, Canada, and Europe)

Congratulations Yasemin!

We are thrilled to announce the acceptance of our Grade 11 student, Yasemin, to the prestigious CCIR (Cambridge Center for International Research) program! Yasemin’s dedication to science and academic excellence led to this remarkable achievement. Working with a University of Cambridge doctor specializing in cancer research, Yasemin’s acceptance into this challenging program is a testament to her potential. We eagerly anticipate her contributions to the field of research. Congratulations, Yasemin!

Diversity Day Celebration

Join us in celebrating cultural diversity on Thursday, April 26, with engaging activities and a ceremony on campus. More details will follow in upcoming newsletters.
