Key Features of the Curriculum:
The Prince Edward Island and Ontario curriculum outlines the knowledge and skills students need for success in any chosen pathway, with each grade or course building on the previous one and progressing with students’ developmental growth.
The following elements are present in our educational program:
- The program clearly outlines the knowledge and skills students are expected to learn and apply by the end of a grade or course. In addition to the course outcomes, KIS emphasizes the incorporation of the schoolwide learner outcomes in each subject as well.
- Students are regularly assessed on their progress and attainment of the course outcomes. Evaluations are shared with students, parents, and guidance counselors to ensure academic development.
- The educational program additionally covers learning related to transferable skills, Indigenous education, and the importance of human rights, equity, and inclusive education.
