The Prince Edward Island System
At Keystone International Schools (KIS), students follow the Prince Edward Island (PEI) curriculum, an internationally recognized Canadian program that emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and real-world application. As a Canadian Affiliated School in Turkey, KIS offers a pathway to earning a Canadian high school diploma, with instruction in English and additional French language learning. Our Grade 1 to 12 students are registered with the PEI Ministry of Education, and receive a Canadian Student ID which grants them access to our online library.
The PEI curriculum supports a well-rounded education through academic and applied courses, project-based learning, and external assessments such as the MAP Growth test, and DELF for French. Course content is aligned with both global competencies and Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs).

Languages

At Keystone International Schools (KIS), language learning is at the heart of our academic program. English is the primary language of instruction, ensuring that students develop strong communication skills for success in higher education and global environments. From Kindergarten onward, students engage in daily English Language Arts, supported by our Intensive English Program for those who require additional support. Lessons focus on building fluency, accuracy, and academic vocabulary, enabling students to excel in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
French is taught as a second language across all grade levels, reflecting our commitment to fostering multilingualism and intercultural understanding. Our French Streaming Program places students in levels aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), allowing personalized instruction to match their proficiency. We also offer Intensive French Programs, including one-on-one lessons, to accelerate language acquisition for new or developing learners.
Language learning is further enriched through school-wide events and extracurricular opportunities:
